Security Alarms have been in operation for approximately 30 years, in the beginning they were very basic systems, consisting of window foil and tape, pressure mats and uni zone detectors, along came the advanced technology of ultrasonic and microwave sensors, passive infrared detectors followed, with the Dualtec – combined microwave / PIR being the most common detector in the 21st century.
Monitoring of alarms was an uncommon practice in the early days, with alarms triggering tape diallers and loud bells with No siren timmers, digital diallers have been in existence since the 80’s and are being made redundant by IP and GPRS technologies.
With security alarms becoming a common household and business item, there have been laws introduced to weed out operators whom are not fit for security. With the introduction of the firms license and advisor / installers license’s in Queensland, this can only mean a more professional industry.
Beware of offers of cheap alarms, and cheap monitoring, there is no such thing.
There is an old saying; to buy cheap is to buy expensive. We recommend you do it right once and have peace of mind knowing your property is secure.
