Do you know the difference in performance with MPEG4 and H.264 ?
Midcoast Security has been using H.264 codecs since Febuary 2008 with version 8.2 of Geovision dvr systems.
The H.264, also known as MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding), is a video compression
standard that offers significantly greater compression than its predecessor.
The H.264 standard is expected to offer up to twice the compression of the current MPEG-4 ASP
(Advanced Simple Profile), in addition to improvements in perceptual quality.
The H.264 standard can provide DVD-quality video, and is considered promising for full-motion
video over network connection.
There is no other DVR that compares to the future rich GEOVISION systems.
Built upon comprehensive and easy-to-integrate hardware and supporting technologies, the GV-Surveillance and Video Management Platform is the core system platform that provides performance-optimized video monitoring and various advanced video analytics/control features to support many of enterprise’s management functions. It is a scalable, extensible platform that can be customized and seamlessly integrated with other security system applications, such as:
In addition the remote management WebCam and versatile storage system framework offer high scalability and extensibility for future integration with other functions or systems at remote sites. |
